Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release around ₹22,000 to each beneficiary farmer under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PM Crop Insurance Scheme) and lay the foundation stones for projects worth ₹8,140 crore in Dehradun on Sunday.
The BJP aims to mobilize over one lakh people for his address at the internationally renowned Forest Research Institute (FRI) grounds in the city.

The Prime Minister will visit Uttarakhand to participate in the state government’s ongoing Silver Jubilee celebrations marking the foundation day of the state.
According to officials from the Chief Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Modi will disburse approximately ₹62 crore under the crop insurance scheme to 28,000 beneficiary farmers across the state, translating to ₹22,000 for each beneficiary.
In addition to releasing the crop insurance payments, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various development projects valued at over ₹8,140 crore.
These include the inauguration of projects worth ₹930 crore and the foundation stone laying for projects worth ₹7,210 crore. The initiatives will primarily focus on drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development.
According to a government statement, major projects for which foundation stones will be laid include the Song River Dam Drinking Water Project, with a capacity of 150 million liters per day (MLD) to supply water to Dehradun, and the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital.
Other projects include the construction of electrical substations, the establishment of a Women’s Sports College in Champawat, and a state-of-the-art dairy plant in Nainital.
